Dural Public School, NSW

About the Business

Dural Public School’s canteen is proudly run by the Parents and Citizens (P&C) association — a group of dedicated volunteers who ensure students are well fed and cared for each day. Recently renovated, the canteen was updated not only to improve service for students but also to better support the volunteers who keep it running and strengthen engagement within the school community.

Challenge

The canteen’s former glass-door fridge had become a major operational challenge. Its limited size and shelving made it difficult to display drinks effectively, leading to frequent restocking during the busiest times of the day. This added pressure for volunteers, drawing attention away from serving students.

Without a digital temperature display, maintaining accurate temperature readings was also difficult, making it harder to meet essential food safety requirements.

Solution

To create a more efficient and student-friendly canteen, the P&C selected a combination of Bromic units designed to improve display, storage, and ease of use.

  • GM0400LC-NR – Upright Display Fridge
A 380L display fridge ideal for showcasing drinks, featuring adjustable shelving, bright LED lighting, and a 9-star energy rating that helps reduce running costs.
  • UC0374SDW-NR – Upright Storage Fridge
This compact solid-door fridge maximises internal space while keeping food at safe temperatures. Its clear digital display makes monitoring easier for volunteers and helps support compliance with Safety Supervisor Standards.
  • CF0500FTFG-NR – Display Chest Freezer
With 491L of storage, this flat glass lid freezer provides appealing visibility for ice creams and frozen snacks while offering ample room to reduce restocking during busy periods.

The new refrigeration setup has made an immediate impact, improving product visibility, increasing storage capacity, and easing the workload for volunteers. The P&C also valued Bromic’s responsive aftercare — support that mattered even more in a school environment where reliable refrigeration is essential. Their positive experience led them to recommend Bromic to the Hills Hawks Football Club, who subsequently installed a GM1100B-NR to enhance their own canteen service.

“When our old fridge failed, Bromic’s customer service team were so understanding and arranged for a replacement the next day. They understood we’re a school canteen and couldn’t go without a fridge. The aftercare made a world of difference.”
