Baghdad Supermarket, VIC

About the Business

Specialty grocer Baghdad Supermarket offers a diverse range of gourmet products and international delicacies. Their focus on quality and variety sees them bring in products and ingredients from Egyptian, Lebanese, Iraqi, Syrian, Italian and Greek cuisines, to serve a community that values authenticity.

Challenge

To be able to present their broad and culturally diverse product range clearly meant they needed to make use of every square metre of their retail space. This was particularly important for perishables like dairy and frozen items, which are some of the store’s largest categories.

The cold section needed a solution that would allow easy access for customers while being able to hold ample stock. A combination of open refrigerated displays and display freezers was needed to suit the layout of the store, with maximum shelving, ensuring customers could easily browse and select products without the space feeling overcrowded.

Solution

A mix of Bromic multideck display chillers and freezers was selected to create a cohesive and efficient cold section for the supermarket.

Vision 240Multideck Display Fridges

Fit seamlessly into the space along one wall, these multideck fridges created a clean, continuous cold display with no gaps. The open design provides a clear view of the entire range and makes it easy for customers to access products.

UF1500LF – Display Freezers

Adjustable shelves and built-in product stops allow these display freezers to make the most out of the vertical space available, meaning more products can be stocked clearly without being disorganised. The internal LED lighting subtly illuminates the presentation, helping products to stand out.

Both the multideck displays and freezers are mounted on castor wheels for easy repositioning, layout refinement and to improve flow, without any heavy lifting.

Late one afternoon soon after opening one of the units wouldn’t start. A call to Bromic support resulted in a technician arriving first thing the next morning. A simple switch issue from transport was identified and resolved within minutes, getting the unit up and running with minimal disruption, and demonstrating the benefits of Bromic’s aftercare service.

The result is a practical cold section that supports Baghdad Supermarket’s extensive (and growing) range while remaining adaptable and easy to maintain, allowing the team to focus on delivering quality products to their customers.

The customer also had an opportunity to experience Bromic Extra Care Service in action. After installation, they were unable to start one of the units. After calling Bromic support late in the afternoon, a technician arrived at the site first thing in the morning. A quick inspection revealed that a switch had tripped during transport. This was quickly fixed and the unit was up and running within minutes.

Fast delivery, exceptional customer service. Very happy with Bromic multideck display fridges and display freezers. They look great, provide lots of space for our products and hold the temperature well even in summer – what’s more to ask!
